“El Telón de Azúcar” is the portrait of that generation of Cubans who were living Cuba's utopian dream during the Golden Era of the revolution. Childhood memories of those who were born and raised during the 1970s are almost paradisiacal: a peaceful everyday life, solidarity among neighbors and friends. Commencing with her childhood, the 35-year-old filmmaker turns her attention back to her childhood and looks back at the present from there. In doing so, she shows how world politics accelerated the process of growing up for a whole generation.
