A Chilean reporter is following a lead at a public hospital when he accidentally stumbles across a very rare patient, a child suffering from Fallot, also known as the “Blue Child syndrome.” The child is turned into an overnight celebrity. Every Chilean follows the story with intrigue and sorrow as the child’s expected date of death is announced by his doctor, on the 25th of December. However, the 25th comes and goes minus the child’s death. Baffled, the reporter, doctor and a businessman decide to kill the boy in order to provide the death awaited by the entire country, given their vested efforts to make the child a star. In the end, the boy was going to die… eventually.
Un periodista de un diario de crónica roja anda a la caza de una nueva noticia en un hospital público cuando por accidente se topa con un caso rarismo: un niño sufre la enfermedad de Fallot, o también conocida como el síndrome del “niño azul”. El periodista convierte al chico en una celebridad. Todo Chile esta siguiendo la vida del niño y esperan ansiosos aunque con pena, su muerte anunciada por el doctor del establecimiento para el veinticinco de diciembre exactamente. Pero el veinticinco llega y la muerte no se produce. Ofuscado, el periodista, el doctor y un empresario, que habían invertido muchísimos recursos en convertir al pequeño, en el niño símbolo de Chile, deciden matarlo para entregarle al país lo que estaba esperando. A fin de cuentas, el niño se iba a morir igual… eventualmente.
