Alexis de la Rocha is a first generation Latinx artist, musician and innovative creator, responsible for all facets of her projects including songwriting, producing, artistic design and video direction. Born in Los Angeles, she began playing piano at age seven and performing dance recitals at the very young age of three. Continuing into adulthood, Alexis graced the stages of the LATC, Royce Hall and Center Theatre Group, sung with the indie band Beatmo as well as provide jazz vocals for the Latin Jazz All Stars. She released her debut EP “LEX” in May 2015 and toured the country with her band LJ Laboratory, receiving critical praise by Consequence of Sound, The Bay Bridged and Rolling Stone for her dynamic musical displays at SXSW, Snow Globe, Pride (Los Angeles and San Diego), KABOO, Treefort and more. Alexis spent this last year transforming into her new role of motherhood where she was inspired to create her new solo project. As LALIFF Music Supervisor, she advocates for Latinx artists by providing a platform highlighting diverse musicians, transforming the way the world views Latinx performers.
