THE ROOSEVELT THEATER
Born in Chicago to parents of Puerto Rican and Honduran descent, Carlos Figz started gaining notoriety in 2012 when iHeart Radio station, WGCI-FM 107.5 aired one of his singles featuring Grammy Award winner GLC. From there, he hasn’t looked back.
Chicago hip-hop artist/songwriter, Carlos Figz made his SwaysUniverse.com debut with the single “Away Night.” It also aired on Power 92.3. Since then, Figz has been working on a new EP, “In Between Jobs.” He released his single “Again,” with additional vocals by Kaye Fox (the sultry female narrator of J. Cole’s “KOD”) in August via HotNewHipHop, as well as “OH LORD.” Figz is now back with a new song called “Central Casting”, produced by James Boyd and V Fresh.
Carlos plans to take over as the new face of Latin hiphop from the heights of where Big Pun left it in the late 90’s, incorporating a more inspirational Chicago soul sound. Still known to release rhytmic pop singles that find their way to major radio, it’s only a matter of time before Carlos finds his way to the top of the charts.
