ABOUT THE DIRECTOR(S)
Monica Medellin is a producer and director at Define American, a media and culture organization that uses the power of story to humanize immigrants in mainstream media. She is the founder of The Gnar Gnar Honeys, a production company that promotes diversity and female representation behind and in front of the lens. In her previous work, Monica worked at the Los Angeles Times, where she helped launch a digital platform exploring the intersection of race, immigration and identity in a multicultural America. Monica received her BA from University of Oregon School of Journalism.
