Latino Film Institute Launches Futuro XR: 360° Video Lab

Applications Now Open for Five-Month Fellowship Supported by Agog

LOS ANGELES, CA — January 5, 2026 — The Latino Film Institute (LFI) today announced the launch of the LFI Futuro XR: 360° Video Lab, a five-month fellowship designed to train storytellers in the art and technology of immersive 360° filmmaking while amplifying stories rooted in the Latino experience. Supported by Agog, the program brings together emerging filmmakers interested in exploring social, environmental, and cultural themes through immersive media. Projects at the intersection of science, art, and technology are also encouraged. Applications are now open through January 19, 2026.

Futuro XR provides selected fellows with hands-on training in 360° cameras and production, spatial sound, and immersive editing workflows. Participants will also take part in workshops focused on narrative and documentary storytelling for the 360° medium, alongside virtual mentorship and collaborative production opportunities.

Applicants are asked to submit either a narrative script or a documentary or experimental treatment centered on strong social or climate-related themes. All submitted projects must be original, unproduced works.

Through a combination of weekend intensives, virtual learning, and mentorship, the fellowship supports both creative and technical growth and will culminate in the completion of two original 360° projects.

Selected fellows must be willing to further develop their projects, receive creative notes, and participate fully in LFI’s production and approval process.

Full guidelines and application materials are available on the Latino Film Institute website. To learn more and apply, visit here.
