Diana Cadavid is a Colombian/Canadian curator of film and new media, with wide experience in international film festivals. She’s currently Director of Industry Programs for the Latino Film Institute (LFI), and International Programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Fun Facts

What’s the one movie you could watch a million times and never get tired of and why?

I could watch Cleo from 5 to 7, by Agnès Varda, a feminist film completely ahead of its time a million times and never get tired of it. The first time I saw it, it changed my perspective on cinema, and I was fascinated by the beauty of the images and the power of the story of Florence, the woman it portraits.

If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would it be?

If I could instantly become an expert in anything, I would be an expert on Linguistics and the history of language, because language holds and carries the history of humanity. I’m fascinated by the way language shapes our identities, and understanding its history, allows us to understand the ways in which we are all profoundly connected as human beings.
