Marisa Guerin, a Chicana and Boricua with degrees in Chemistry and Film & Media Studies from the University of Rochester, combines her diverse passions through her food blog and newsletter. Actively involved in key roles in short film productions, she is dedicated to supporting fellow creatives and is proud to be part of the YCP team, uplifting more Latinos in media.

Fun Facts

What’s the one movie you could watch a million times and never get tired of, and why?

I will rewatch any John Hughes rom-com, but specifically The Breakfast Club, because when I first saw the movie during my high school years, I watched it every day for a week. I don’t have a concrete explanation for it.

If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would it be?

If I could instantly become an expert in anything, I would love for it to be glass blowing to be able to create anything imaginable from jewelry to a chandelier. I would also incorporate recycled materials to give them a new purpose.
