Nagisel Esparza is a dedicated advocate who grew up in Southern and Baja California, where she has always embraced the themes of binaries and borders in her work. Through her non-profit efforts, she focuses on curating and providing creative spaces for underrepresented communities, allowing her to expand her passion for dismantling oppressive systems, community development, and art. She is thrilled to be part of the Latino Film Institute and looks forward to witnessing its ongoing evolution alongside their talented and uplifting colleagues.

Fun Facts

What’s your secret superpower (the one no one knows about)?

My secret super power is that I am an animal whisperer. Like seriously, introduce me to your pet and we can hang for hours, no words necessary. I’m also just a tad delusional, so there’s that.

What’s the one movie you could watch a million times and never get tired of, and why?

A movie I can watch a million times is Interstellar. It’s my comfort movie (even though it makes me cry every single time).
