ABOUT THE DIRECTOR(S)
Elvin Herrera is a documentary filmmaker and video editor based in Los Angeles, California. During his early college years, Herrera discovered his calling as a documentarian by filming cultural and social justice events around LA, while at the same time exploring his Chicano roots and overcoming the challenges of being a first generation college student.
As Herrera became involved with grassroots organizations, he grew passionate in capturing groups fighting for social justice in their communities. Till this day he often travels to L.A.’s Olvera Street and Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights for inspiration. Through the embrace of his Chicano identity and community involvement, Herrera developed a talent for filmmaking, by documenting the spirit of the people and advocating their struggle.
